あるAnonymous Coward曰く、" 本家Slashdotにて、あのSCOが Linux Kernel 2.5に基づくOpenLinux 10 ServerとWorkstationを 2006年Q4にリリースするという話が掲載されている。 OpenLinuxはSCOの前身であるCaldera社のdistroの名称であるが、 問題のサイトと プレスリリースは既にアクセスが不能になっている (Googleキャッシュ)。

Groklawにも記事が掲載されているが、Groklawではこのリリースに関して、 リリース文章の体裁やSCOが通常発表するルートと異なること、 カーネル2.5をベースにするのはおかしいということ、Openlinuxの 権利はSCOが持っていないこと、そもそもSCOの弁護士が許さないだろう ということで、デマであると論じている。"

    SCO の法務部門は最新の Linux 2.7 kernel (Groklaw [groklaw.net], the Inquirer [theinquirer.net]) をすでに発見しています。OpenLinux を 2.7 ベースにしないのは何故なんでしょうかねぇ？

    もしほんとうならお金がなくなってきたんでもともとCalderaが売ってたOpenLinuxでも金儲けしようってことなんでしょうか。
    でもOpenLinuxはSCOのものじゃないっぽいですし、どうなんでしょ？

    OpenLinux2.3 ServerはデフォルトでPHP3が含まれていたのでサーバーを納品するときにOSとしてよく使ってました。
    3.1が出た時にもっと使いやすくなって広まっていくかなーと思ったのですがSCO買収とかわけわからない方向に行ってしまいましたね。
    CorelLinuxといいStormLinuxといい、ヨサゲなディストリビューションはどんどん消えていってしまいます。
    今使ってるUbuntuは消えないでがんばって欲しいですね。

    すでに、SCOの裁判ネタ自体忘却の彼方になっているような気がする。 まだSCOて在ったんだ？ 最近聞かないよな。 そういえば何か裁判してたよな？ 何だったっけ？ くらい存在感ないじゃない。 ネタ自体何のネタなんだ？って思われてたりして。

    カーネル2.5ってだけでネタ確定じゃねーか！
    2.5ベースで独自開発しましたとか言い出さないとも限らないけど、SCO独力では絶対無理だろ。
